Hello Spruce View Community!
I am excited to be joining this wonderful school and community and am looking forward to teaching Grade 7-9 Foods and HIgh School CTS courses.
Prior to my time here, I worked in a variety of roles in education. I graduated from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh in 1998 and spent the next 22 years working in educational settings in Scotland as a K-6 teacher, a literacy and numeracy learning specialist and lecturer in teacher education at the University of Dundee. I got my MEd in Leading Teaching and Learning from the University of Dundee in 2021.
My husband and I (and our 3 dogs) finally made the huge move to Cochrane in April 2020 after 18 months of hard work to make emigrating here happen. I taught in Rocky View School Division for 3 years in elementary, then middle school before moving to Chinook’s Edge to be vice-principal of Cremona School in 2023.
We love this area of Alberta and moved onto an acreage near here earlier this year. We are loving our life here and enjoy spending time outdoors with our (now) 4 dogs and exploring this beautiful province and beyond. I love reading, music, being outdoors, finding new places to explore and spending time with friends.
